The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a KIPP parent group that promotes parents’ involvement in their child’s education and school. The PIC holds meetings the third Friday of each month at 3:30 p.m. to gain support from other parents, discuss happenings at the school, and get connected with volunteer opportunities at KIPP.
Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
· Teacher/classroom aides
· Community outreach/service
· Committee participation
· Teacher appreciation
· Fundraising
Research shows that students with involved parents, no matter what their income or background, are more likely to earn higher grades, attend school regularly, have better social skills, and graduate high school and go to college.
