WELCOME TO KIPP ACADEMY NASHVILLE

As we approach the end of the 2008-09 school year, I have the great opportunity to lead a school filled with the hardest working teachers and students in the city. This year, our first class of KIPPsters, the Class of 2013, continued climbing the mountain to college by preparing for high school. As our eighth graders sorted their way through the High School application process, our fifth graders anchored our school’s choir which was recognized for its superior performance in the Middle Tennessee Choral Festival. All the while, our seventh and sixth graders, the Classes of 2014 and 2015, continued to develop into students who know how to work hard and be nice. While the KIPPsters developed, their teachers continued to work hard – 60, 70, and often 80 hours per week – to provide the KIPPsters with meaningful lessons and to help them become one of the highest performing schools in Nashville. At the end of every Saturday School at KIPP, the KIPPsters and their teachers exchange apologies and shout outs. As the school year begins to draw to a close, I want to be sure that everyone on our campus hears my shout out – I am proud of the hard work our team accomplishes every day, making KIPP Academy Nashville a place where students develop into their fullest potential. Thanks to all of you for committing yourself to our mission and making this happen.
